I have spun 100g of soysilk last weekend. I had dyed it myself and I wanted to know what kind of yarn I could get from it. First I thought that spinning it would be an easy job. Well, it wasn't. It was pretty nice to spin the fibre, but it needed very much twist. The soysilk was also very slippery and while spinning it ran away easily. I almost decided to leave the job and continue later. When I had spun all the fibres, I realize that on the other bobbin were more yarn than the other. What to do now because I had had an idea of what kind of yarn I want to do. I changed my plans. I decided to make a clumpy novelty yarn. I haven't ever thought that plying could be such a slow job. The result was very nice. I will knit a scarf horizontally of the yarn.
Here's is a photo of the soysilk scarf. I really enjoyed knitting it although it was clumpy and dry. I mean that I needed to use a hand lotion while knitting otherwise the yarn would have stuck to my hands.
You will find more photo's in my Flickrfolder.
The turqoise cape is made for my friend. I have designed it myself.
